6/22/02- So far I have read the complete section on Rory Gallagher and enjoyed it- there are quite
a few interviews and comments made that have never been made public before this book. This is also great
for someone who wants to get an insight into the music business from a "behind the scenes" prespective so many of
us in our younger years had no idea what was really going on. Learn about how the money disappeared and the "Business" end
of being an artist somewhat echoes what happened to the early blues artists- basically they were cheated. Sad but true. Numerous interviews with Gerry McAvoy, Ted McKenna, Wilgar Campbell, Rod D'Ath and others around Rory for all the years. You can also get an answer about what really caused Rory's untimely and early death. And what I wondered about was how could such a great musician remain to be somewhat mysteriously "obscure".... I got my answer to that lingering question I have had all those years.... I mean here is a guitarist who sold 30 million albums and you can ask 100 Rock Fan's probably for a show of hands and very few will say they remember Rory or have played his album in the last 20 years.
So if you a true fan of these great guitarists or just of Rory- this is well worth the $19.95 it costs.
